Hello again. Thank-you for visiting our mares section of our website. Our girls are displayed in a random order, not with any preference. We love them all the same, and they were each chosen for their own unique characteristics, conformation, style of work bred for, etc... We will start with "Tiny" (a.k.a. "Untamed Heart"), age 13. She is our Appaloosa stallion's dam, and a wonderfully sweet mare.
TINY
Tiny, ("Untamed Heart" ApHC #531679), came to us by way of a friend who was bringing her home to her farm and stopped in here on the way. As soon as we saw her head alone, I told this girl that I just had to have her for our breeding program. When we ever saw the rest of her (and there was/is plenty of her to see!!), I knew that we couldn't let her get away from us! I gave this friend a deposit the next day. She has started to give us what we've been looking for since the beginning. The foals she has produced to date have caused us to keep going in the same direction that we have been going in with our breeding program. We are breeding for black coloring in our ApHC eligible stock. Be sure to see all the foals Tiny has produced for us out of the cross with Rein Dancer SSH. We think you'll like what you see.
She's checking to make sure the coast is clear before going ahead.
Tiny in June of 2004... something's got her attention.
Tiny... she doesn't miss a thing!
Peanut, (Pending ApHC/IAHA registrations), is our third foal out of Jackie, who is also the third of three "full" brothers and sisters. She is a light-red dun, who has begun to roan out this year, showing her Appaloosa coat pattern. She has had the white sclera, striped hooves, and some mottling since she was a weanling, but has done just what we expected her to do considering the history with her full-brother, JB, and her full-sister, Lolita (See them on our "SOLD" page). Peanut will be bred to "Love At Sunrise", a gorgeous Tennessee Walking horse who has got superior bloodlines with several World Grand Champions close behind him!
Peanut at 4 years old, waiting patiently for her turn with trainer, Chris Lombard.

Peanut is a very pretty mare who is now a member of our broodmare band.

Missy, ("Sully's Black Beauty", ApHC # 602306), was purchased in November of 2003. She was chosen for her "Hunter" type conformation and sweet, gentle personality... as all our mares have. She is a black mare who has roaned out nicely, and will hopefully be producing many foals for us here at Classy Quarters. She is presently in foal to our stallion (now gelding and sold), JB, and has been bred to our stallion, Reiny for the second time now, to continue with the Appaloosa coat pattern, containing "black" coloration! Missy has been genetically tested by U.C. Davis, and is proven to be homozygous for BLACK! This tells us that she cannot produce a red foal, regardless of what the sire is!
"SNOWY"
Snowy, ("Kaniksus Snoqualmie"), has been here in Maine for a year now, and boy, is she EVER growing! She is now about 15+ hands. Snowy is a delightful black Fewspot leopard mare. We like this about her, as her color pattern is that of an Appaloosa that will either put a color pattern or the Appaloosa characteristics necessary for any of her offspring to be "regular" registered. This is regardless of what she is bred to, also. Snowy also happens to be an "F-3", meaning that her prior three generations of ancestry consist of nothing but Appaloosa/Appaloosa breedings. She is 97% Foundation bred! So many "Appaloosa" horses now consist of more outcrossed breeds than do the original Appaloosas. Her bloodlines include such names as: JokerB, Prince Plaudit, Pratt Toby Secret, Red Clouds Deacon, and Fourmile Princess. Snowy is going to make a fantastic addition to our breeding program in a few more years! Meanwhile, she's going to be shown and try to earn some points on her in-hand and later, under saddle, also. She too, will be being checked to see if she is homozygous for BLACK, as our "Missy" has proven to be.
Snowy has recently been referred to as "The Couch". I can't IMAGINE where she's getting that name from...
